Getting Started
Where are your clinics located?
- Core and Motion Malvern: 248 Glenferrie Road, Malvern VIC 3144.
- Core and Motion Brighton East: 3 Brewer Road, Brighton East VIC 3187. We are located inside the Classic Residences.
How do I find the Brighton East clinic specifically?
Thanks for choosing Core and Motion Brighton East! Finding us inside the Classic Residences is easiest if you park on Victor Road and head through the car park gates closest to Thomas Street. From there, turn left and follow the path toward the fountain; the door to our entry is located up the ramp.
- Visual Guide: Watch this video for clarity.
- Need help? If you have any confusion, just give us a call on (03) 9599 2266 when you arrive.
When should I arrive for my appointment?
If you are a new client, please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Parking can be difficult at both locations, and finding the physio area in Brighton takes a moment. Additionally, there are intake forms that take about 10 minutes to fill out.
- The Win-Win: If you finish your forms early and the Physiotherapist is free, they will likely take you in earlier!
What should I do prior to my first visit?
To ensure your therapist is fully prepared for you, please:
- Fill out your client details online via the link sent in your confirmation.
- Send through any scans (X-rays/MRIs), doctor’s referrals, or medical documents in advance via email.
What should I wear?
- For Treatment: Please wear appropriate garments that allow the therapist easy access to the region being treated (e.g., loose shorts for a knee injury or a singlet for shoulder issues).
- For Group Classes: Wear comfortable, stretchy exercise clothing. For safety and hygiene, non-slip grip socks are mandatory for all gym, studio, and ONERO™ classes.
Consultations & Fees
How long are the consultations?
- Initial Consultation (Approx. 40 mins): If you haven’t been to our clinic before, your first visit will always be an Initial. This allows for a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis.
- Standard Consultation (Approx. 20 mins): Ideal for the ongoing treatment of one specific region.
- Extended Consultation (Approx. 40 mins): For more complex cases involving 2–3 regions.
- You can discuss with our admin team or your therapist whether you require a Standard or Extended session for your future follow-ups.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No, you do not generally need a referral to see our Physiotherapists or Myotherapists. We are primary contact practitioners.
Do you accept Medicare, WorkCover, and TAC?
- Medicare (EPC/CDM): We are a mixed-billing practice. For Senior Staff, the full private fee applies with a gap. For Associate Staff, we offer a reduced gap fee. You pay the fee upfront and receive the $61.80 rebate back instantly via our Tyro terminal.
- WorkCover & TAC: You do not need a GP referral to start treatment with us for these claims.
- NDIS: We accept Self-Managed participants only.
Do you accept Private Health Insurance (PHI)?
Yes. We offer on-the-spot claiming through our Tyro terminal. You will only need to pay the remaining gap.
What are your payment options?
We accept cash, debit, and credit card payments.
Our Clinical Services
What is the difference between Physiotherapy and Myotherapy?
Physiotherapy focuses on assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute or chronic injuries, while Myotherapy focuses specifically on muscle dysfunction and myofascial pain, often using hands-on techniques for maintenance and relief.
Do you offer Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?
We have Physiotherapists who can assist with initial screenings and general pelvic health. For highly complex issues, we refer to a network of specialists to ensure you receive the most appropriate care.
How do I join a group class (Pilates, Strength, Hydro, or ONERO™)?
All clients follow a consistent clinical process to ensure safety:
- Initial Assessment: 1-on-1 to design your bespoke program.
- Prep Sessions: Usually 2–3 private sessions to learn your program.
- Group Class: Joining the small-group supervised sessions once you are independent.
